Speaker Compatibility Test

When connecting speakers to your Dulcet amplifier it is crucial to ensure that the speaker impedance matches the amplifier’s specifications. Mismatched impedance can lead to poor audio quality, overheating and even damage to your amplifier.

Important Points before Testing :

Check your Speaker’s Impedance value

You can find your Speaker Impedance on the back or bottom of your speaker. If not then look for the documentation or manual that came with your speaker.

Know the No. of Speakers you can connect with the Amplifier

You can connect maximum 2 speakers on each channel of your Dulcet amplifier.

Know the Types of Speaker Connections

  • Speaker connected in Parallel : When speakers are connected in parallel the positive terminals & negative terminal of each speaker is connected directly to your dulcet amplifier in this case power is distributed evenly among the speakers and the overall sound output increases.
  • Speaker connected in Series : When speakers are connected in series the negative terminal of 1st speaker is connected to the positive terminal of the 2nd speaker & the remaining terminal are connected to your dulcet amplifier in this case the overall sound output may be lower than that of speakers connected in parallel.

Know the Right Connection Type

The choice between parallel & series connection depends on the number of speakers you are connecting & the impedance value of each speaker. If Total Impedance of each channel is equal to or more than 4 Ω (Ohms) and equal to or less than 16 Ω (Ohms) it indicates that you can connect your speakers with your Dulcet amplifier.

Now it’s time to check your Speaker’s Compatibility

Kindly select your connection type and enter your speaker’s impedance value to check the compatibility of yours speakers with your Dulcet amplifier.
